Artist Profile

   My name is Alina Harrington. The nickname 'Alpava' comes from my first name and my patronym, Pavlivna, based on my father's name, Pavlo. That sounds confusing, but yes, I am a Ukrainian living in the UK. I inherited my surname from my ex-husband, with whom I have a beautiful daughter Emily.

   I am a doctor and a self-taught artist. I started painting in 2014, initially as a way of relaxation and coping with the stress of my job, but I have become more and more absorbed into my new passion. I find I am very attracted to expressing human nature on canvas and have taken Portraiture and Life Painting courses at Exeter College. 

I am still exploring the World of Art and am currently doing some Still Life work.
